Tillandsia Caput Medusae is a unique plant in the Tillandsia species.

The forms  of this species are certainly rare and to them, the plant owes its name.

With the thickest head (caput) at the bottom and the wonderful tightly curled leaves, Caput Medusae is likened to a female figure from Greek mythology. Medusa, the woman with snakes for hair, which in turn is quite similar to the curly leaves of this type of Tillandsia.

Other common names of Tillandsia Caput Medusae, are Medusa head and octopus plant.

This air plant is native to Central America and Mexico. Tillandsia Caput jellyfish are shipped from farms in Central America to Corsa Plants main location in De Lier, where they continue to care for these plants until they reach an average plant height of 15 centimeters.

During spring or early summer, a beautiful violet colored flower often grows in the middle of this air plant.
